It may come as a surprise that Cuba has a population of Chinese who have lived there dating back to the 1850's . Havana's "Barrio Chino", or Chinatown, was once spread over 40 blocks, and may have reached as many as 40,000 people. Now the Chinese population has dwindled to perhaps five hundred living and working close to the Chinatown neighborhood in Havana.
